Privacy Policy

Offseason is a development tracker for tennis players. This policy explains what we collect, why, and how we handle it. Plain English, no surprises.

What we collect

When you create an account:

• Email address for sign-in and account-related messages.
• Password, stored hashed. We never see the plain text.

Optional information you may provide:

• Display name
• NTRP level, used once to seed your initial rating
• Club affiliation
• Playing hand
• What you're here for (your goal), used to tailor what we highlight

Matches you log: opponent, score, surface, date, and optional context. Feedback you give in the app, such as whether a rating change felt right.

Automatically collected: standard web logs (IP address, user agent, paths), performance metrics (Web Vitals), and error reports when something breaks.

How we use it

• To run the app: sign you in, save your profile, compute your rating, show your matches and standings.
• To keep the app working: monitor errors, measure performance, prevent abuse.
• To contact you for account-related messages (email confirmation, password reset).

We do not sell your data. We do not show ads. We do not share your data with advertisers.

Who can see your information

Offseason is a shared space, not a private log. Any signed-in player can see your display name, rating, player class, and full match history, including your losses, and can scout your profile. This is limited to people with an Offseason account, not the open web, but it is not private to you or your direct opponents. Only your email address and account credentials stay private.

Where it lives

• Supabase for database and authentication, hosted in the United States.
• Vercel for web hosting and analytics.
• Resend for sending account emails (confirmation, password reset); it processes your email address to deliver them.

These are reputable providers with their own privacy practices.

Your rights

• View and edit your profile information in the app.
• Edit a match you logged, and cancel it while it is still pending confirmation. Once a match is confirmed by your opponent it is locked; email us to correct a genuine error.
• Sign out at any time.
• Request account deletion by emailing the address below.

We keep your data while your account is active. When you delete your account we remove your personal information; matches you played may remain on your opponents' records without your name.

If you are an EU or UK resident, you have additional rights under GDPR (access, correction, deletion, portability). Email us to exercise them.

Cookies and tracking

We use only the cookies we need: a session cookie to keep you signed in. Our analytics (page views and Web Vitals, via Vercel) are cookieless: they do not set tracking cookies or store a persistent identifier on your device. We use no third-party advertising cookies.

Children

Offseason is not intended for users under 13. If we learn we have collected data from a child under 13, we will delete it.

Changes

If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top, and notify you if the change is significant.

Terms of Service

By creating an account or using Offseason, you agree to these terms.

What Offseason is

Offseason tracks the tennis matches you log and shows how your game changes over time. Your rating is computed from those matches. Your name, rating, and match history are visible to other signed-in Offseason players, not only your opponents or crews. Offseason is not affiliated with USTA, UTR, or any official rating body.

Your account

• You must be at least 13 years old to use Offseason.
• You are responsible for keeping your password secure.
• You may not impersonate anyone else.
• You may not use Offseason to harass or abuse other users.
• Do not share login credentials.

What you log

• You own the matches you log.
• By logging a match, you grant Offseason permission to display it, and the rating and standings computed from it, to other signed-in players.
• Do not log matches that did not happen. Do not log on behalf of others without their consent.
• We may remove content that violates these terms.

Service availability

Offseason is provided as is without warranties of any kind. We try to keep it running smoothly, but we do not guarantee uptime, accuracy, or that your rating reflects any external rating system.

Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Offseason and its operators are not liable for any indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of the service.

Termination

You can stop using Offseason and request account deletion at any time. We may terminate accounts that violate these terms.

Changes

We may update these terms. Continued use after we update means you accept the changes.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado, United States.
